PRINTERS! #lifesaver

Sooooo It's been a minute since I've posted something! I would love to give a valid excuse as to why I haven't been updating my blog....but I'm not going to do so! This is actually going to be a quick post because my piano student will be here in 19 minutes! But I just wanted to share my gratefulness on PRINTERS! I FINALLY purchased an HP printer this past Monday! Can you say LIFESAVER???? Gosh! Being able to print in the comforts of your own home is LOVELY!!! And it's not only beneficial/convenient for me, but it's VERY beneficial for my students!!! Being able to print games, chord progression sheets, etc.....it's grand! Just wanted to share with ya'll! I hope to jump back in the swing of things with this blog! Until then, 'B' Blessed!

*please excuse my nastiness* lol But this is a really good printer! It not only prints, but it copies and scans! I've been printing like CRAZY since purchasing it!  Icing on the Cake: $49.99 (Target)!!

Just a "few" of the thing I've printed this week! Since it's October, I wanted my little students to play fun Halloween songs! So far so good!!

Here is a F Major chord progression from a certain song that my teen girl will be learning! Can you guess what song it is??? *Hint: Bruno Mars

TEAM #Lessonplans

HEY YA'LLLLLL!!!! Ok. So I'm sitting here on my bed right now creating lesson plans for one of my teens. Her lesson is tomorrow and she is learning the concept of reading music. I've decided to teach concepts to the best of my ability using practical application. For example, my teen likes pop music! So what better way of learning the theory behind a pop song??? If you've read my last post, I posted videos of the songs that my students are currently learning! So yes, she is the one who is learning Adele "Someone Like You." Instead of learning it in the original key (A Major) I ordered sheet music offline that transposed the song to C Major. When I presented it to her last week she was EXCITED! lol I even had fun playing it myself lol! Anyways, I've decided to incorporate Play-Doh for my tactile approach. Note reading can be kind of difficult, even if you do know the "Every Good Boy Does Fine" and "FACE." This will be my first time using this approach so I'm really studying and creating ideas JUST FOR HER. This is MY belief: EACH student is different. Why not create lesson plans that center around each individual student???? With the help of God (LITERALLY) and the internet, ideas have fallen in my lap! Below are very recent pictures of 2 lesson plans I've used and will use. THEREFORE If you are in the Greenville, SC area and you are interested in taking piano lessons, you can contact me at bmajorpianostudio@gmail.com! Until then, 'B' Blessed ;-D

Since "Hot Cross Buns" was not in the method book, and I felt like it would be a easy and FUN song to learn, I created my own sheet music for my two sister girls! This was the "rough draft" here. I can honestly say they had a GREAT time jumping, spinning, patting, and stomping the beat yesterday! Lol as a treat I gave them Hot Cross Buns AKA Honey buns lol!!! They loved it!

These are my two sister girls!!! They are VERY energetic and they LOVE music! I'm sooooooooo looking forward to seeing them progress and 'B' Major musically! This pic was taken 3 weeks ago! (do you like my rainbow socks???) ha!

Here we Are!

Creating my lesson plan for teen girl for tomorrow! I PRAY that this concept will work. I will DEF keep ya'll posted!

Opened Ears...

So I am convinced that teaching piano is my thing! I really do enjoy it! Why? Because of my students! They make teaching piano FUN! My vision for 'B' Major Piano Studio is to create a positive, fun, and encouraging environment. I do NOT believe in the word boring. Music is never boring. One thing that I do not want is for one of my students to look at me during a lesson and say "I'm Bored Angie." NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! If that ever happens, or if I sense boredom from the student, I will stop in my tracks and figure something out. I want each student to enjoy this piano learning experience!!! Okay. That is my tangent for today lol! Below are songs that three of my students are crafting/learning!!! Also, if you are in the Greenville, SC area and you are interested in taking piano lessons or if you have any questions, you can contact me at bmajorpianostudio@gmail.com. Hope to hear from you!!!

Enjoy!!!

It's Another Day's Journey and I'm Glad About It!

WOW. What an amazing, yet busy, weekend I had! As you all know, I went to the Community Expo at Long Branch! I only got three potentials! I couldn't sit at my table because they did a worship service, which was encouraging by the way, and plus I had to leave early for choir rehearsals at my church! BUT I am truly grateful for three potential students. I am grateful for any student! I believe as music teachers, and even in general, we need to learn how to be CONTENT. Greediness will get you NO WHERE. Mmmmhmmmm.....I think I need to say that again.....Greediness will get you NO WHERE.  I am trusting in God and Him only to multiply, add, subtract, etc....He is Sovereign and I trust Him. He will supply ALL of my needs! *now let's pass the offering plate* hehe! Anyways, I hope you enjoy these pictures. And remember, if you live in the Greenville, SC area and you are interested in taking piano lessons, don't hesitate to contact me at bmajorpianostudio@gmail.com! Until then, 'B' blessed!

This was how my table was set up! And that is my logo on the computer screen, Thanks Lee!!! This was my first time EVER doing something like this, so next time I'll throw some candy on the table ;-D

Great Beginnings!

Well I am happy to say "Welcome" to my blog! This is my first official post on here and I am VERY excited! This will be a great learning experience for me! I am VERY excited about what God is going to do with 'B' Major Piano Studio. I've always thought that starting a business would be semi-easy....WRONG!!! It is HARD! Thankfully, I know that it will all be worth it. It's actually fun too, since I try to live a productive lifestyle! I've been busy making brochures, teaching, creating lesson plans, meeting a new student, and so much more. Can a sista get some COFFEE??? Starbucks??? Caramel Macchiato??? Tall??? Anyways, check out the pictures below!!!

So this is my best friend forever, Jasmine! I will promote my business in a Community Expo event tomorrow (8/25) at Long Branch Baptist Church in Greenville. I didn't have time to get a professional banner made, so I figured a poster would suffice for now. It's a start! Since Jasmine didn't have a ruler to work with, she got creative and used my Papa's mail! Ha! This girl is VERY talented!

Still at it!

I am obviously excited!!! Even though I was REALLY sleepy in this picture!

It is finished!!! My lovely Papa held it for me so I could take a picture! Love that man!

While Jasmine was working on my poster,  I was creating my brochures! This was my first time EVER creating brochure! It was actually fun!

I am so grateful for Fed Ex/Kinkos! I was able to print off 100 brochures with fine quality paper for 32 bucks! I am very well pleased with how they turned out! I can't wait to hand them out tomorrow at the Community Expo! Along with my business cards! (I would take a picture of them but I really don't feel like getting up from the bed) Maybe next time!

If you are located in the Greenville, SC area and you are interested in taking piano lessons, please contact me! You can either reach me here on my blog or at bmajorpianostudio@gmail.com. I will definitely update you all on how the Community Expo went! Until then....'B' Major!
